By Sports Alarm Team · Published

Following English soccer from the US means early mornings. Here's when games kick off in your time zone, why a few weeks a year are different, and how to make sure you're awake for the first whistle.

Quick answer: Most Saturday Premier League games start at 7:30am, 10am and 12:30pm ET (6:30, 9 and 11:30am CT; 4:30, 7 and 9:30am PT). Sunday games are usually 9am and 11:30am ET, and Friday or Monday night games are 3pm ET.

Premier League kickoff times in US time zones

The Premier League builds its weekend around a handful of fixed TV slots. Its fixture list starts every weekend game at 3pm UK time, then moves selected matches to Saturday 12:30 and 17:30, Sunday 14:00 and 16:30, and a Friday or Monday night at 20:00. Midweek rounds default to 19:45, with some games at 19:30 or 20:00.

For most of the season the UK is 5 hours ahead of Eastern time, so here's what that looks like for you:

Times converted with the IANA time zone database for a normal week (UK 5 hours ahead of ET). The 20:15 midweek slot is occasional. Sunday games are sometimes moved to other times, such as 19:00, when a club played in Europe that week. Always check the listed time for your match.

Arizona fans: most of Arizona doesn't use daylight saving time. From late October to late March you match Mountain time (a 12:30 UK kickoff is 5:30am). From late March to late October you match Pacific time (4:30am).

Why so many games are at 10am ET

That 10am Eastern slot is 3pm on a Saturday in England, the traditional kickoff time. In the UK, games aren't televised live between 2:45pm and 5:15pm on Saturdays. The Premier League says this "closed period" protects attendance and atmosphere across all levels of the game, including lower-league and non-league clubs that play at the same time.

That rule only applies in the UK. In the US, NBC Sports holds the rights to all 380 matches, so the 3pm UK games you'd never see on British TV are live here. On a busy Saturday that can mean several games at once at 10am ET, which is why streaming multiview features are popular.

The clock-change weeks: when kickoffs shift by an hour

The UK and the US both use daylight saving time, but they switch on different days. The UK changes on the last Sunday of March and the last Sunday of October. The US changes on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November. In the gaps, the UK is only 4 hours ahead of Eastern instead of 5.

So this weekend, Saturday Oct 24, 2026, is still normal: the UK hasn't changed yet. The following weekend, Oct 31 – Nov 1, everything is an hour later for US fans (a 12:30 UK game is 8:30am ET, 5:30am PT). From Saturday Nov 7, the usual 7:30am ET start is back. Arizona's clocks never move, so Arizona only shifts when the UK does: on Oct 25, 2026 and Mar 28, 2027.

Where to watch in the US

NBC Sports is the exclusive US home of the Premier League, under a deal that runs through the 2027-28 season. Matches are spread across the NBC broadcast network, Peacock, and cable channels, with Spanish-language coverage on Telemundo and Universo. Peacock streams the games that air on NBC plus its own exclusive matches.

Which game goes where changes every weekend, and NBCUniversal's cable spin-off has moved some coverage around since late 2025, so check the listing for your match on NBC Sports or Peacock before game day rather than assuming a channel.

Tips for West Coast fans

FAQ

What time do Premier League games start in the US?

Most Saturday games start at 7:30am, 10am and 12:30pm Eastern (4:30am, 7am and 9:30am Pacific). Sunday games are usually 9am and 11:30am Eastern, and Friday or Monday night games are usually 3pm Eastern.

Why are there so many 10am ET games on Saturdays?

10am Eastern is 3pm in the UK, the traditional kickoff time. Those games are blacked out on UK TV to protect stadium attendance across English football, but in the US every match can be shown live.

Which channel shows the Premier League in the US?

NBC Sports holds the exclusive US rights through the 2027-28 season. Games are spread across NBC, Peacock and cable partners, with Spanish-language coverage on Telemundo and Universo. Check the listing for each match, because the channel changes week to week.

Why are kickoffs an hour later in some weeks of March and late October?

The UK and US change their clocks on different dates. For about three weeks in March and one week around late October and early November, the UK is only 4 hours ahead of Eastern time instead of 5, so a 12:30 UK kickoff is 8:30am ET.

How do I get woken up for an early kickoff?

Set a Pre-Start alarm in Sports Alarm. It sounds a loud, persistent alarm about 15 minutes before kickoff, in your local time, so you don't have to do the time-zone math yourself.
